Using Internal Server set up with AUSST, trying to invoke Remote Update Manager but getting error Return Code (1)

I have set up an internal update server using AUSST, tested the server according to the instructions obtained from Adobe, and all works well. I downloaded all updates for CC 2014 to the server (Macbook Pro running OS X 10.9.4). However when I use Apple Remote Desktop (3.7.2) or Terminal on the Mac workstation (Mac Pro running OSX 10.9.4) itself to initiate updates, the Remote Update Manager command returns an error code (1). I have 53 Mac workstations and am getting the same error code for all of them. I double checked the settings when I created the install package. What else can I check to troubleshoot this issue?
