Hi,
I'm an SCCM administrator for our company and I've been given access to the Creative Cloud Packager (v1.7.0 Build 43) in order to package In-Design for local installation, via SCCM to many desktop around the world, instead of each user downloading.
The process seemed very simple, however the output takes 20 mins to install, while when I compared it to the Trial version this took 7 mins on the same PC. I even made sure the package I created in CCP did not include any patches to be as close as possible to the trail version. Also, I noticed while it installs the progress bar windows sticks until it's finished on the "Gathering Request Information" section. Though, looking at the log you can see the log is progressing but, does indicate many pauses in the install process.
Does anyone know why there is such a install time difference? Also, the trial version installs several C++ redistributables, while my CCP package does not, even though that package takes much longer to complete. Anyone dealing with users knows, they won't wait 20 mins for an application to install, especially when the progress bar looks like it has hung. Obviously, I can hide the progress bar, but it's nice to sure the user that something is still happening.
We've not used CCP before, so I have nothing to compare this too, though the AAMEE never created packages like this.
TIA
