Re: Unable to install non-standard updates - Cannot launch/update Adobe Digital Publishing for InDesign CC 2014

Hi Kartikay,

Thanks very much for the response and suggestions.

The platform is OSX, so the same relative location on the Mac was: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0

I was able to change the AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat, and then manually install the AdobeDigitalPublishingPatch-CC2014-32.0.0 update.

I then re-modified the AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat to block manual updates again.

I was then able to successfully launch 'Folio Builder' from within InDesign CC 2014.

I am now halfway there in getting this resolved.

Your solution is great for a single machine in this instance, which I will image.  However, when the next DPS update occurs for InDesign, I believe I will encounter the same issue - for multiple machines.

It doesn't appear that the DPS is included as part of the updates available through Creative Cloud Publisher, where it's required to be in order to create an update package for deployment to InDesign. It wouldn't be feasible to modify the update file and manually install the update on 60 odd machines. I can't keep the updates enabled on the machines, as users do not have admin rights to install them.

Is there a manual method for installing the components? ie copying plugins/extensions etc without running the installer?

Or, can a .pkg update be created for deployment through Apple Remote Desktop etc?

Thanks again.
