Re: Adobe Creative Cloud silent installation problem
Re: Adobe Creative Cloud silent installation problem
Hi,
This seems related to the need for a reboot. Try using the parameter MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=Disable
Re: PDApp.log - The Bootstrapper Process return code is (42).Stopping the installation process
If I understand correctly everything is installed correctly except for the PDF printer with Acrobat DC.
You can install this separately or perform a repair installation of Acrobat. Adobe PDF printer is missing | Manually install PDF printer
Re: PDApp.log - The Bootstrapper Process return code is (42).Stopping the installation process
No, I have create the package with the option "install in the directory specified by the user". The Application Adobe DC was not installed in the appropriate directory. See screenhot 1
Re: "Allow non-admin to update and install apps" reliability
What has been observed is that un-installing/installing the CCDA resolves the issue. My best guess is that during installs, randomly something goes wrong with the implemntation of the service/files ""%Program Files (x86)%\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\ElevationManager". In our environment the end-user can do this un/re install from SCCM so it's not the end of the world however a better understanding of where the failure is would be neat.
At one time I thought it could have been related to "Ensure that you are running the current version of Creative Cloud Desktop Application as recent updates include fixes for Elevated Privileges issues." because nearly every time CCDA is launched there is an update. However un/re installing even an old version of CCDA on a machine that isn't honoring the config setting to allow non-admin fixes the issue, After re-install the program will launch, will update and all is well. (Where before, when it had the issue, on first launch it'd propmt for the admin permissions just to update itself). I checked the other conditions and all is well.
Re: PDApp.log - The Bootstrapper Process return code is (42).Stopping the installation process
You can use the separate Acrobat MSI and the INSTALLDIR parameter Windows cmd line and msiexec — Enterprise Administration Guide
Creative Cloud Packager still downloads/packages Creative Cloud 4.6.0 - not 4.6.1
I was told by our security team to upgrade the creative cloud application on all our managed pc's/mac's - its mostly been a huge headache (especially as I found the Adobe Remote Update Manager tool won't upgrade this for me), but I've finally finished a script that does the upgrade and I noticed that Creative Cloud Packager still builds packages with the old version.
This is reference to the security bulletin posted here: Adobe Security Bulletin - says to upgrade to version 4.6.1 reading over it - it seems like a rather serious vulnerability (privileged escalation - basically the worst a vulnerability can be) - so I'm shocked that the Creative Cloud Packager is still building old versions .
Re: Uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application silently
that didnt work for me any suggestions?
Re: "Allow non-admin to update and install apps" reliability
What also has been observed is running the repair option on %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud\Utils\Creative Cloud Uninstaller.exe resolves this as well as also updates the CCDA. There isn't a silent option but if there was, this would be a perfect solution.
Re: Change App install location registry
A small update.
Using ProcMon I traced what happends when you change this value through the GUI, I found that it writes to this config-file:
%USERPROFILE%\Appdata\Local\Adobe\OOBE\com.adobe.accc.apps.<RANDOMGUID>.prefs
The file contains the following part (and lots of other things): installLocation>C:\Program Files (x86)</installLocation
But since the file seems to contain a random GUID and alot of other info this is not possible to deploy.
Do anyone know if it's possible to set it somewhere else, maybe in the registry?
Any help would be appriciated,
Robin
Photoshop 2018 (19.1.6, Win10 1709) Crash during startup. No Crash Report. Folder Redirction
Since a few weeks PS 2018 started crashing in our managed AD environment (Win 10 1709) on different machines and fresh installs.
We tried rolling back to 19.1.4, a version known to have worked, this did not fix the problem.
It only occurs on limited user profiles with active folder redirection. Works fine when run as local admin. Other CC Apps are fine.
The settings folder is being generated:
\\dfs\<path to appdata in user home>\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2018\Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 Settings
There is NO crash report being generated, no Event log entry, there is a folder "Absturzprotokolle" in settings folder and PhotoshopCrashes in %temp%, both empty.
I can provide a zip with all logs created during startup in %temp% though i see no way to attach it in this forum. I can provide a link in a private message if needed.
Re: Creative Cloud Packager still downloads/packages Creative Cloud 4.6.0 - not 4.6.1
Hi,
I checked with our Packager engineering team and this update is web only and will not be included in Packager. The updates will be included in the 4.7 release of the Creative Cloud Desktop Application which will be released soon.
Creative Cloud Desktop Application 4.6.1download

Re: Creative Cloud Desktop Application 4.6.1download
what problem are you having with your cc desktop app?
Re: Creative Cloud Desktop Application 4.6.1download
Our Security Scanner says there is a vulnerbility with the desktop app prior to 4.6.1 as per
Release notes for the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app
Therefore i need to update our systems to use version 4.6.1 but the link, downloads 4.6.0.391
Thanks
Re: Creative Cloud Desktop Application 4.6.1download
Marks35864106, since 4.6.1.393 is a web release and not a mandatory release you will need to uninstall the current installation of the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application and reinstall to obtain version 4.6.1.393. You can download and run the Creative Cloud desktop app uninstaller utility from Uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application to remove the current installation.
Once removed you can use the process in Learn how to download your Adobe Creative Cloud apps to reinstall the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application and obtain version 4.6.1.393.
Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application is not currently available for download and local installation or through the Creative Cloud Packager. These releases always come after the initial public release and are not consistently implemented for web releases. You will need to be on a non-restricted network or have access to the servers listed in Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints to install version 4.6.1.393 of the Creative Cloud desktop app, Marks35864106.
Please update this public forum discussion if you have any additional questions.
Re: Creative Cloud Desktop Application 4.6.1download

Re: Creative Cloud Desktop Application 4.6.1download
Marks35864106, if you have 100 installations to complete, then I would recommend you wait until a newer version is available through the Creative Cloud Packager and deploy the updates to the computers.
You can bookmark Download Creative Cloud desktop app which is updated at the same time as the Creative Cloud desktop app becomes available through the Creative Cloud Packager. You can find the last published date in the top right-hand corner of the page. The current date listed is July 16, 2018, which was when version 4.6.0.384 of the Creative Cloud desktop app was made available.
I would also recommend bookmarking Release notes for the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app if you wish to keep up to date regarding which updates are mandatory or web-only releases.
Re: Creative Cloud Desktop Application 4.6.1download
Marks35864106, the network endpoints document provides the list of servers that the computers would need access to to install and use the applications and services included with a Creative Cloud membership. The computers would need access to the servers listed in Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints if they wish to download and install the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application directly from the Internet.
